The Distress Cycle is maintained by the collapse of a distinction between what belongs inside us, i.e. our thoughts, feelings and physical sensations, as opposed to our actions in the outside world.
In this Video, Ella Brent explains in an accessible way the connections and also the distinctions between Inside: Thoughts and Feelings, and Outside: Actions. It helps in making sense of the balancing act (dialectic) between Acceptance and Change, by clarifying Inside things as the focus of validation and acceptance, and the Outside things as the focus of review and change.
