Dani Schlesinger is a speech therapist and audiologist who coordinates the Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital Cochlear Implant Programme in Soweto, where she has worked for the past 13 years. Clinically, she works as both a MAPping audiologist and an aural rehabilitation therapist. She has been a regular guest lecturer in aural rehabilitation at the University of the Witwatersrand and is one of facilitators of a one-year post-graduate short course through Stellenbosch University in Listening and Spoken Language. She is currently undergoing certification as an Auditory Verbal therapist through Auditory Verbal UK. She has obtained her Level 2 South African Sign Language certificate and has an Honours in Community Psychology. She has a particular interest in family-centered intervention and working with multilingual families.
