This talk helps us understand the significant psychological impact of the paternal figure, and is based on a paper written by the speaker, where he reviews the psychoanalytic literature on the paternal function, identifying 5 different aspects of the paternal role. This talk offers theoretical tools to conceptualize the impact of clients' relationships with their father figures.
