Dr Rose Aghdami is a Chartered Coaching Psychologist, CPD Trainer, BPS Registered Supervisor, author, and experienced practitioner with more than three decades of experience across clinical, counselling, and coaching psychology in the UK and internationally.

Throughout her career, Dr Aghdami has worked extensively with adults, children, teenagers, couples, senior executives, and organisations, providing psychological assessment, therapy, coaching, supervision, consultancy, and training. Her clinical background spans private practice, the NHS, private psychiatric hospitals, and international services, including work in Switzerland.

Dr Aghdami began her career as a psychologist in Switzerland, where she assessed and treated children and teenagers using CBT and systemic therapy approaches. She later worked in Oxford within NHS services, supporting adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties including anxiety and depression, drawing on psychodynamic therapy, CBT, and CAT. She subsequently spent many years in private practice, specialising in trauma, anxiety disorders, OCD, phobias, panic, and workplace mental health.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Aghdami has provided supervision to trainee and qualified psychologists since 2002 and has become widely recognised for her commitment to promoting coaching psychology as a discipline grounded in psychological theory, evidence-based practice, and rigorous enquiry.

Since 2012, Dr Aghdami has focused increasingly on coaching psychology, providing what she describes as “In-depth Coaching” to senior executives and leaders in the UK and internationally. Her approach combines reflective practice, theory-led interventions, and a strong focus on understanding the psychological processes that underpin behaviour and long-lasting change.

Recognising the growing prevalence of burnout in professional settings, Dr Aghdami developed the evidence-based FUEL Your Resilience® model to help individuals and organisations build resilience and prevent burnout. She delivers coaching, workshops, presentations, and consultancy on resilience, workplace mental health, and leadership wellbeing. Her FUEL model was featured in the 2020 edition of Carol Wilson’s book Performance Coaching in the chapter “Resilience in Leadership”.

Dr Aghdami is also a regular speaker at conferences and corporate events in the UK and internationally, including in Hungary and Switzerland. She has delivered training for coaches on “Coaching for Resilience” and supports organisations with mental health policy, leadership development, and managing psychological wellbeing in the workplace.

Her expertise has been recognised by the media, with the British Psychological Society regularly recommending her as a resilience expert for interviews and commentary. She was also the resident psychologist for a regular mental health programme on BBC Radio Oxford.

In April 2026, Dr Aghdami’s book, How to FUEL Your Resilience: A Practical Guide to Developing Resilience Skills for Professionals, was published by Routledge and approved by the British Psychological Society for its “Ask The Experts in Psychology” series.

Dr Aghdami’s qualifications include a BSocSc in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Birmingham, an MSc in Social Science Research Methodology from the Open University, accreditation training as a Clinical Psychologist with the Federation of Swiss Psychologists, and advanced psychotherapy training in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic approaches. She completed her Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy in 2015, with a thesis exploring the integration of positive psychology principles into clinical practice. She is also a BPS Registered Chartered Coaching Psychologist and holds qualifications in executive coaching, coaching supervision, and supervision skills training.

Dr Aghdami remains passionate about positive psychology, strengths-based approaches, and helping people thrive personally and professionally by building on what is already working well and creating meaningful, lasting change.
