Professor Jordaan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology, University of the Witwatersrand, where she has worked for the past 30 years. She is currently the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate studies in the Faculty of Humanities. She was the chair of the Multilingual affairs committee of the International Association of Logopaedics and Phoniatrics (IALP). She is a member of the Education Task team of the South African Speech Language and Hearing Association and has worked as an assessor for the Professional Board of the Health Professions of South Africa. Her research focuses on language–in-education policies and practices in the South African context. She has presented conference papers and published articles both locally and internationally on this topic.
