Dr Toni Pikoos is a clinical psychologist and postdoctoral researcher with a special interest in Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), body image, and the psychology of cosmetic procedures. Her research examines why people seek appearance-enhancing treatments and how these experiences relate to mental health and wellbeing. Toni contributed to Australia’s national practice standards for cosmetic procedures, integrating psychological screening to improve patient safety and outcomes. As Co-Founder of ReadyMind, she develops screening tools, resources, and training to help practitioners recognise and support individuals at risk of BDD or appearance-related distress. In her clinical practice, Toni provides therapy for people experiencing BDD and related body image concerns.
