An Introduction to Narcissism: The map is not the territory

CPD points & talks · Psychologists

Narcissism is increasingly present in clinical settings, yet remains one of the most misunderstood and under-researched areas in psychology. This CPD event, the first in a series of 3 on the subject, offers a foundational exploration of Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) from its mythological and historical roots to its current conceptualisation in the DSM. Participants will gain insight into the complex and often contradictory presentations of narcissism, including the nuances of diagnosis, comorbidities, and treatment considerations. By the end of the session, psychologists will be better equipped to conceptualise narcissism beyond the surface-level traits and engage with clients through a more informed, clinical lens.
