Childhood Depression and Anxiety: An overview for therapists & educators

There is a growing awareness of childhood depression and anxiety. It is imperative to understand the complexities of child mental health, particularly the high comorbidity rate of depression and anxiety, in order to design and implement effective intervention strategies. 

This talk is designed to create awareness regarding the aetiology, core diagnostic features, factors relating to comorbidity, and implications for interventions for children who experience depression and anxiety. This introductory talk is designed to assist Allied Health Care Professionals who work with children, as well as Educators and parents in terms of effective case management of children with mental health concerns. 

This talk aims to assist Healthcare Professionals to identify and recognise early symptoms, or warning signs for childhood depression and anxiety, in order that they may refer children to Mental Health Care Professionals for further treatment.
