Effective Contracting: Informed treatment consent

This talk, presented by Annelie van der Westhuyzen of Ethics Simplified, will cover all the aspects pertaining to informed treatment consent as stipulated by the HPCSA, and other relevant health legislation (such as the Consumer Protection Act and the POPI Act). In this talk, all aspects needed to for an effective informed consent contract between the practitioner and the client will be discussed, including the contract with a minor. The need for written, verbal and implied consent will also be touched on.
