In this talk, actuary & expert witness Gregory Whittaker offers a window of insight into the Life Esidimeni tragedy, which involved the transfer of psychiatric patients from Life Esidimeni facilities to unlicensed and under-resourced NGO\'s, leading to the tragic deaths of at least 144 patients. Greg offers insight into the arbitration proceedings around these events, where human rights violations were highlighted and the concept of constitutional damages brought forward.
