Types of Psycho-Legal Assessments and Report-Writing

This talk identifies the unique requirements of different kinds of psycho-legal assessments. Issues arising in care and contact, children, criminal capacity, trauma and serious injury assessments are discussed. Cross-cutting similarities that apply to all assessments are identified, such as measures that guard against bias. The talk ends with a short discussion on report-writing. The focus of the talk is on ethical, regulatory and legislative, and best practice approaches to the provision of expert psychological opinion.
