An Overview of Sex Therapy

United States

In this talk, experienced sexologist and psychotherapist Catriona Boffard offers an overview of sex therapy, including defining sex therapy, giving an overview of sexual problems commonly presenting for therapy, and looking at treatment approaches. Sexual problems and dysfunctions are common, yet many clients struggle to get the help they need as a result of stigma, and sexual problems can be an area in which professionals feel under-resourced. This talk provides much-needed input for clinicians on current theory and research around sexual function and dysfunction, as well as some of the treatment options available to clients.
