Confidentiality in Schools

This talk, presented by Annelie van der Westhuyzen, will explore the ethical pitfalls of maintaining confidentiality while working in a school setting. One of the biggest ethical dilemmas while working in a school setting is confidentiality. This talk will unpack the ins and outs of confidentiality while working with educators, parents, principals and other health care team members. This talk will hightlight the HPCSA's confidentiality rules and regulations, as well as the impact of the POPI Act on working in a school setting. This talk is relevant for all health care professionals working in a school setting, as well as health care professionals working with school children in other settings.
