Cleaning during COVID-19 Pandemic

CPD points & talks · Psychologists

It's been a time of great adaptation during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we've all had to find ways to offer our services to patients and provide the essential support they require. For paediatric therapists, it's been advantageous to find a way of getting back into the therapy room and seeing patients in person, especially given the nature of the hands-on, sensory and tactile engagement that is often required. I've been very aware as a patron of different services of whether I feel safe and comfortable with the protocols that have been put in place to accommodate the time we are living in. Cheryl Fisher (MSC OT) offers therapeutic services to children, with a focus on sensory integration and using DIR:Floortime principles. In this 2 and a half minute short clip, Cheryl shares the tips and hacks she has developed to cope with cleaning and sanitising during COVID-19. Cheryl has found ways to do this efficiently, avoiding the cumbersome task of spending half an hour between sessions cleaning. Listen to her valuable tips below. If you'd like to access core principles of DIR:Floortime which can be implemented in your practice, watch Cheryl's full, HPCSA-accredited talk here.
